Founded in 2001 by former HSG students at the suggestion of the then university pastor Dr. Frank Jehle. The aim is to financially secure pastoral care at the HSG and the Steinbock meeting point through attractive networking events on cultural and theological topics and a membership base.

Annual Events

Our annual event is the highlight of the Steinbock. Der Verein. Once a year, members come together to experience a special day. Inspired by the excursions from our university days, we explore exciting places, learn about culture and history and enjoy culinary highlights.

 

The event brings generations of Steinbocks

 together and offers the perfect opportunity to meet old friends and make new contacts. Whether you've been a member for a long time or are new to the club, here you'll experience the club's special community first hand.

Arthur-Rich-Preis

The prize, founded in memory of the business ethicist Arthur Rich, is endowed with CHF 1,000 and is awarded every year for an outstanding scientific work completed at the University of St. Gallen in the interface between theology, economics, law and political science, religious studies and ethics.

Arthur-Rich-Preis 2025 - Submit your work now!

The Patron Association for the Support of the Chaplaincy of St. Gallen (Steinbock. Der Verein.) annually awards the Arthur-Rich-Preis for outstanding academic work at the University of St. Gallen in the border areas of theology, economics, law and political science, religious studies and ethics.

Please note the following:

  • Only bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses from the University of St. Gallen that were submitted to the University of St. Gallen within 12 months before the submission deadline for the prize are eligible.

  • The grade from the University of St. Gallen must be submitted with the application, or if not yet graded, submitted as soon as it is available.

  • Papers in German and English are accepted.

 

Papers must be submitted together with a CV and grade by June 30, 2025 using the link below.

Our Board

The board has been reorganized since 2023. We all share a past and present at Steinbock and we would like to revive these memories from time to time. The board works on a voluntary basis, but with full motivation!
